DSDN_171_BRIEF2_HAND IN

The research field i am using is Baroque/Roman.

Edited book.

The edited book that i am using is " Baroque garden cultures". This book proposes a new approach to the study of baroque garden, examining the social perception of gardens as a means to understand garden culture in general and as a feature of baroque culture in particular.

Conan, M. (Eds). (2005). Baroque garden cultures. Washington DC: Dumbarton Oaks.

Book by single author.
The book that i used " Architecture in the ace of reason". It was found
that through Dr. kaufmanns thorough examination and documentation revealed that the break with renaissance and baroque values were deliberate. Architects or the period consciously tried to create new styles expressing individualism and independence.

Emil, K. (1968). Architecture in the ace of reason. Canada: General publishing company.

Scholarly Journal article.

This journal provides not only a vivid history of Roman Baroque, but also shows images of the progression of Baroque and its dominant artists/architects. Not just the creators of Baroque are mentioned. Critiques and intellects opinions are explored and then given counter argument to allow the reader their own opinion.

Website

On this website, it generalises the whole foundation of Roman Baroque. In the seventeenth century, the city of Rome became the consummate statement of Catholic majesty and triumph expressed in all the arts. Baroque architects, artists, and urban planners so magnified and invigorated the classical and ecclesiastical traditions of the city that it became for centuries after the acknowledged capital of the European art world, not only a focus for tourists and artists but also a watershed of inspiration throughout the Western world.

Image

This image that i have used has fully taken on the Roman vocabulary of renaissance architecture and used it in a new rhetorical and theatrical fashion. The characterization of the human bodies as pillars create new explorations of forms and give great dramatic intensity.

DSDN_101_PROJ1_HAND IN_PRECEDENT IMAGE

This is Leonardo Da Vinchi's drawing.

DSDN_101_PROJ1_HAND IN_INDIVIDUAL WORK

This is my final project, from where you take an artist and portray thier style.
The artist that i am using is Leonardo Da Vinchi. His style of drawing depicts movement, a change in something, direction, real life and mostly drawn in perspective. From my precedent image of the hands that he has drawn, he shows a light sketch of what they looked before, to something differnt once it has moved forward in time. So with this idea i have shown a light sketch of a craft knife, then moved it forawrd in time to were it has the actaul blade pretruding outwards, shoing that the blade has moved. this is then composed with staind paper and basic hatch as he has an 'olden styled' drawing.

DSDN_101_PROJ1_HAND IN_TOUCH AND DRAW

For this excersize i concentrated on every aspect of what a 'WATER BOTTLE IS'. I portrayed the oxgen atom and the helium atom each flowing towards the centre, combining into the h20 molecule from were it spills out blue streams to depict the end result of which is water. the circular casing portrays the the water bottle container, from which i used the detail of hatch to define this.

DSDN_101_PROJ1_HAND IN_SECTION

This is my final section for this excersice. I manipulated the scale of the craft knife from large to small and revolved it around the handle peice as it is the most distinctive dominate object on the page. i then reflected the the blade to show contrast pointing towards the handle to again enforce its hiearchy.

DSDN_101_PROJ1_SECTION

This is part of my section excersise. I used a craft knife sectioned the end part, then scaled taht 2:1 to show the insides.

DSDN_101_PROJ1_HAND IN_DRAW

In this 'DRAW' exercise, i projected my mobile phone four times, then detailed viewed the speakers to show were my music head phones go into the phone.

DSDN_101_PROJ1_HAND IN_HATCH

In the hatch excersise, i went with the basic hatch technique, but used it to portray an image of a rose.

DSDN_101_PROJ1_HAND IN_IDENTITY

My identity project i went with my mouse as being the dominant image, with the rest of the objects contrasting with themselves to make there own shadow, and composing them to point towards the mouse

Design Persona

‘Strive to be the best’- ‘succeed’ – ‘Be happy’. Are the morals that my family live by. Thanks to my parents of being so supportive by giving me any and every opportunity possible, I was immersed into a range of sports, cultural upbringing and drive to succeed academically. Through these actions, from a young age I have doodled, scribbled and sketched anything and everything on every type of surface. This let my imagination to run free, bringing out my strong creative nature that my father saw in me since being in primary school. Despite having such a creative side, I was always good with numbers; therefore I always had a knack for physics and calculus. In my schooling years I thought I was going to be some sort of an architect or sportsman. But through the shear excitement and fulfilment of designing/redesigning of a project I felt as though I knew what I wanted to do with my career.
At a young age I was always fascinated in Maori culture/sport and the way technology is evolving the world. So with this, I always wanted to explore the simple complexities of Maori art to that of the Koru and Mangopare to the great shape and form of Dubai’s Buri Khalifa skyscraper. These are very iconic objects, bringing both creativity and complexity from which the world is amazed by.
Through my inspirations and the way I have been brought up, I aspire to design/redesign sportswear and equipment to better performance of form and function, to the way it appeals it the human eye. Bachelor of design innovation will set me on the right track towards my future by letting me explore my cultural, numerical and ‘sporty’ side to succeed in this industry.

DSDN104 DESIGN CREATION

Inspirational abstract objects/images...

A metal sphere, that blooms to its inner goodness.

Metal/plastic spheres, with hidden detail through out.

A mixture of colours, with different strokes length, very eye catching

Alien like object, with sleek futuristic curves

A bit of "street funk" with much detail, with every object presented in this image

The "basic wave" much interest towards the ocean, and the way it forms and breaks.

The whole human/creature body intrigues me. This in particular the "eye" coloured differently catches my "eye"

The way that both of these shells are constructed gives me much interest, especially the top image, with its "endless" circular curves.

These the last images i couldn't find the links.
But I find all these images to be very interesting, bringing a range of magnificent design elements to light.
Through the use of colour, to the extravagant designs of futuristic buildings.

First solidworks tutorial!!!

My first post/image.....
I am glad to show that this is my first peice of work from using the software " SOLIDWORKS"!!!
It is pretty rough but after a couple more sessions I am sure we will be off for a great trimester :)
